There are many tools you can use to reprogram your subconscious mind and help you live the life of your dreams. Opening your mind to different techniques can help you make massive changes in how you approach your future and reach your goals.
Many people use visualisation to inspire and motivate them. Top sports people use it to “mentally rehearse” the perfect golf shot or to visualise winning the race. More than just thinking about what you want, visualisation is an effective tool to harness the power of your subconscious mind, so that you can achieve your wildest dreams.
Why does Visualisation Work?
Your subconscious mind cannot tell the difference between an actual experience and one that is vividly imagined. So, it doesn’t matter whether you actually experienced the situation or simply visualised it. Your unconscious mind has still faithfully recorded the images, sounds and feelings.
Visualisation and Spirituality
Your mind has an incredible ability to create your reality, and visualisation is a key to creating the reality you hunger for. It is often stated that the subconscious mind is linked to a power that is far greater than ourselves. Some call it the Super Conscious Mind, others call it God or the Universe. Whatever it is for you, visualisation is a wonderful way to reprogram your subconscious mind and tap into a greater source of power as well.
Visualisation is also a super way to increase the positive vibrations that you send out. Our thoughts, like everything, are made up of energy, and that energy sends a certain vibration to the universe. As vibrations are sent out, they attract similar energetic vibrations and draw them to us. The more positive energy you put out, the more positive energy you’ll receive.
Here’s how to do it
1. Make sure you’re in a quiet environment.
Do your best to minimise possible distractions. This would include turning your phone off for example. Sitting is best, but you can also visualise lying down.
2. Close your eyes and breathe deeply.
Breathe in slowly through your nose to a count of five, then exhale through your mouth to a count of five or more. Take at least three to five breaths like this to slow your heart rate and calm your mind.
3. Picture a clear mental image of what you desire.
Focus on the details as clearly as possible. Become aware of the colours, textures, sounds and smells within your vision. Make the vision as large as you can in your mind. Then see yourself touching the things in your vision, notice what you are saying to yourself (and others), observe how others react to your new found success and notice how your feelings change as you visualise this more clearly.
Picture yourself already doing or having the things you want to manifest and see yourself accomplishing your goals with ease.
4. Practice visualising the thing you want at least twice each day.
In order for visualisation to work to its highest potential, you must be consistent with your new habit and use the practice every day. Just like learning a sport or musical instrument, it takes practice to get to the stage where you can do it on autopilot.
Other Visualisation Tips
Follow each step of the process through to completion. Let yourself experience the emotions connected to achieving your goal. Ignore any feelings of doubt or questioning. Visualise the outcome as though it has already happened.
You don’t want to rush through your visualisation. Instead, allow yourself enough time to experience the vision fully; about ten minutes or so is good.
Visualisation can be very powerful in helping clarify your desires. However, it’s important to remember that you may not receive the answers you’re seeking in the way you expect, so be open to intuitions, hunches and other possibilities that may come up from your subconscious.
You may find your desires answered immediately or they may come to pass gradually. By keeping an open mind, you’re more likely to see opportunities that can bring your visualisations to fruition. In any case, you are reprogramming your subconscious mind to automatically lead you to new opportunities that will help you make your dreams and desires happen.
Visualisation has other benefits too, such as greater peace of mind, tranquility and contentment. Begin using visualisation techniques today to help you achieve your goals and desires, and reap the rewards!
